This course offers teachers engaging activities and learning materials to increase the digital literacy of their students in regards to mental health, cyberbullying, data privacy and spotting fake news.

Description

DAY 1​: WHO IS HERE AND WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER?

  • Introductory meeting: ice-breakers, practical arrangements, timetable, expectations and contributions
  • International exchange: key principles of the different educational school systems and peer exchange of best practices

     

DAY 2 - DAY 4:  TRAINING TOPICS 

  • Data privacy, passwords & digital vulnerability
  • Fake news, critical thinking & empathy to prevent cyberbullying
  • Managing trolling, ghosting, gossip, hate speech & FOMO
  • Digital citizenship: ethics, copyright, reporting abuse
  • Gaming, social media, commercial influence & mental health
  • Building a safety culture in schools & homes
  • Teaching self-confidence, boundaries & courage to speak up online
  • Cultivating safety culture in schools and with parents
  • Mental health
  • Teaching self-confidence skills in a digital world: saying NO, personal boundaries, courage for upstanding when spotting cyberbullying​

    Course fee:

    • €400 – confirmed at least 16 weeks in advance
      €450 – confirmed 8 to 15 weeks in advance
      €490 – confirmed less than 8 weeks in advance

       

    Course fee includes:

    • 5 days of workshop (6 pedagogical hours per day): training on the topic, peer exchange and networking, one study visit,
    • training materials,
    • coffee breaks,
    • one afternoon cultural excursion,
    • organisation and administrative costs.
