COOPERATION
The door to the Finnish Cooperational Classroom:

Another amazing Finnish activity:

During the last CIRCUS week (in March 2025), the Romanian students prepared this presentation of an activity they do at least twice every month: it is called "The 7S". It is their wish for more students and teachers to do it in class. :-)
The 7S Cooperative Technique
The 7S CL technique allows the adding of some movement to classroom activities.
Here is the basic procedure.
Step 1: Stand – Everyone stands up.
Step 2: Slide – Students push their chairs under their desks to provide more
classroom space.
Step 3: Stretch – Everyone stretches in whichever way feels comfortable.
Step 4: Sip – Everyone takes a sip of water (as hydration is essential for health
and thinking; students regularly bring a water bottle to class).
Step 5: Stir – Students move around the classroom individually.
Step 6: Stop – When the teacher says “stop,” everyone stops stirring and forms a pair with whoever is nearest. If the class has an odd number of members (e.g., 29 students in the class), the teacher can join.
Step 7: Speak – The pairs discuss the topic the class has prepared for.

The Romanians who worked on COOPERATION prepared this:

The Finnish teachers and students came up with this game:
We work together with others constantly, even if it is not all the time active or conscious. Working in a group always raises emotions. Every now and then teachers should ask their students what went well in their group-work.
Can you yourself lean on the strengths of your students’ or colleagues' teams?
How can you use your own strengths in different situations?
Do this every day! Have the numbers 1 to 6 written on 6 slips of paper. Fold them and place them in a hat. Have someone randomly draw one slip and act according to the number you get.
1 = Raise and praise:
During the day, pay attention to one of your colleagues' strengths. In the end of the day, tell them your notices.
2 = Show your leadership:
Volunteer yourself to do the task everyone seemed to have been avoiding.
3 = Praise the group:
Praise and thank the group for a well done day, even if you yourself have been in the most responsible role.
4 = New perspective:
Ask for feedback, and ask how you could improve yourself as a member of the group, or as the leader.
5 = Power of the example:
Pay attention to the strengths of the participants in the group, and talk about them aloud in he group. Highlight the importance of using all strengths to improve the performance of the group.
6 = Inspire the group:
Show leadership, and enthuse the group to act towards a common goal. Can you get all involved?

For working on COOPERATION in Amaurre we have created a Story, a comic Poster and an Activity with our 1st grades mascot, SAM. This activity is designed to be carried out with children from 5 to 7 years old.
✨ Ƶing Goal:
Children understand the power of cooperation and see that helping each other makes tasks easier and more fun.
STORY "Sam the Helpful Squirrel"
--> The whole story is in the document for reading it to the students.
ACTIVITY: "Nut Hunt Team Challenge"
Is an activity that can be carried out in 20-30 minutes and the objective is to practice teamwork and cooperation through a playful mission.
🐿️&Բ;Instructions
- Prepare the Forest:
Before class, hide paper "nuts" around the classroom or playground. Create “forest zones” with tape or cones. - Create Teams:
Divide the children into small teams (3–4 kids per team). Each team represents woodland animals (e.g., Squirrels, Bunnies, Turtles). - Team Mission:
The goal: collect all the nuts together and bring them to Sam’s Tree (a basket or box in the center). - Rules:
- Players must always move together holding hands or a rope to represent working as a team.
- Only one player at a time can pick up a nut, but they must decide as a group who goes.
- If anyone runs alone, they must return and try again with their team.
After playing we can sit in a circle and reflect about the game.
--> Here is the whole activity with printable cut-outs, justification...
The Italian pupils decided to cooperate to try and make their learning environent a greener and better place so they worked together and prepared seed bombs and worked in the school vegetable garden.
