This Week: Game Based Ƶing
As part of our eTwinning project, our students played Taboo to practice English in a fun and interactive way!
They explained words without using the “forbidden words” — and we had lots of laughter and great language practice.
Card games make language learning exciting and unforgettable!

Week 5
During the 5 weeks of our project, our students played Board games and learned many words through various games.
Istituto Comprensivo Arenzano (Italy) - class 1 section D
Game Based Ƶing
This week we studied "Present Simple".
In order to consolidate the conjugation of the present simple of the verbs, we studied it using movement.
Eight chairs are set in a line. On every chair a pronoun is attached: I, you, he, she, it we, you they.
The pupils have got big cards on which VERBS are written: ex PLAY, WALK, WASH...and so on.
One pupil, representing a verb, start sitting on the chairs: saying "I wash, you wash...". When the pupils tried to sit on the chairs "He" or "She" or "It", the teacher stops them and ask: Who is coming? And another pupil, bringing "-S or -ES arrives next to the VERB, so that the pupil can sit and can tell "He washes " or "He plays".
Arriving to "We-chair" , the students take -S or -ES away, because it is useless.
And the conjugation of the VERBS ends sitting on "They-chair".
Credits. I've learned this game from the teacher-trainer Sheelah Deller (from Pilgrims) during an Erasmus course.

As part of our eTwinning project, we focused on game-based learning to make language acquisition more engaging and effective. This week, our students played the popular word-guessing game Taboo, which allowed them to practice English vocabulary and speaking skills in a fun, dynamic, and interactive environment. Through this activity, they not only improved their language proficiency but also developed their communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. The excitement and laughter in the classroom proved once again that learning can be both educational and enjoyable!

Week 4
🎲 Board Games at ZBIMTAL
Ƶing through play continued with fun and interactive board games! In this week's "Laugh & Ƶ" activities, students used customized English board games to review vocabulary, grammar structures, and speaking skills.
From classic games like “Snakes and Ladders – English Edition” to creative, student-made game boards, every round was filled with excitement and laughter. Students had to answer questions, form sentences, or complete fun challenges in English to move forward on the board.
These games not only reinforced what they learned but also encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and friendly competition — all in a joyful, English-speaking environment!

MEMORY GAME
As part of our eTwinning project, we practiced vocabulary in a fun and engaging way using memory games. These interactive activities helped students improve their English word recognition and recall while enjoying themselves. By matching words with their meanings or images, learners strengthened their language skills through play-based learning. The memory games also encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and increased motivation among students. It was a creative and enjoyable way to make vocabulary practice more effective!
