LAUGH AND LEARN 2nd WEEK
FATİH CİBALİ SECONDARY SCHOOL (Istanbul/TÜRKİYE)- Ahmet ÇAĞAY
This week in our eTwinning project, we had a lot of fun playing a creative word game!
Each student participated by coming up with interesting and imaginative words related to our project theme.
It was a great way to learn new vocabulary, improve our English skills, and connect with our friends from different countries.
We enjoyed seeing everyone’s ideas and sharing our own. Ƶing can be so much fun when we play together!
Looking forward to more exciting activities in the coming weeks!
As part of the eTwinning project, I conducted an activity called "Ƶing Vocabularies Through Games." The students wrote down various words, explained their meanings to each other, and tried to guess them. They also created a word chain — each new word had to begin with the last letter of the previous one. In another task, they wrote down one general word and listed all the related words that came to their minds. The activity was fun and engaging. It helped them recall vocabulary related to different topics, reinforcing and applying their prior knowledge.

Second week: Memory games
We are used to make and use a WORD BANK made of word cards to improve the memorization of vocabulary.
We usually learn voccabulary making cards and writing the words in different coluours: nouns are green, verbs are red, adjectives are light blue and "idioms" are purple. On one side there is the English version, on the other side there is the Italian.
We usaully play with these cards in different ways.
This time we did a mamory game.
In pairs, every pupil throwsa card on the desk, reading the Italian words: the other pupil have to guess the English word to get a point and gain the card.
The pupil that remebers more words and gather more cards, wins.

This week in our eTwinning project, we had a lot of fun playing a creative word game inspired by the traditional Turkish game known as "İsim-Şehir" (Name-City). We adapted this game into English, encouraging our students to think quickly and expand their vocabulary while practicing categories such as names, cities, animals, and more. It was a fun and educational activity that supported language learning through creativity and friendly competition!

😂 Ƶing Vocabulary Through Games Grade 7
Ƶing new words has never been this fun! In the 7th week of our “Laugh & Ƶ” project, we explored English vocabulary through laughter-filled games.
Students played vocabulary bingo, word charades, and “Find Someone Who...” challenges. Each activity encouraged students to use new words in context, making learning both meaningful and memorable.
Laughter echoed in the classroom as students competed in friendly word challenges and teamed up to create silly sentences using newly learned vocabulary. These playful tasks helped improve not only their vocabulary but also their speaking and collaboration skills.
Games truly proved that learning English can be a joyful and engaging experience!

🧠 Memory Games at ZBIMTAL
To reinforce the vocabulary and expressions learned during the week, we played a series of exciting memory games! These games challenged students to recall words, match them with pictures, and use them in sentences — all while having fun.
Activities like “Word-Picture Match,” “Memory Card Flip,” and “What’s Missing?” kept students actively engaged and mentally alert. Working in pairs and small groups also encouraged communication and teamwork.
The laughter and friendly competition during these games showed us once again that when learning is playful, it becomes unforgettable!

As part of our eTwinning project, we used board games to make language learning more interactive and fun. Students played specially designed games that involved answering questions, forming sentences, and using new vocabulary in context. The board games encouraged teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication in English. This playful approach turned learning into an enjoyable experience while helping students practice their language skills in a relaxed and engaging way. It was a perfect blend of fun and education!
