In this webinar, organised within the featured group Inclusive Education participants are introduced to some ideas to what teachers can do to tackle and challenge gender stereotypes such as:
- Letting the pupils gain empathy for the ‘other gender’ through literature
- Facilitating boys and girls to engage in mutual activities
- Signing up for a video competition so stop sexism
Also, ideas on talking gender stereotypes with those boys who feel that gender equality has gone ‘too far’. Finally, participants get a short introduction to the teaching material which was developed in the EU-project TeachXevidence that speaker Marie Louise Petersen and her school participated in which resulted in the short eTwinning project ‘Love & Consent’.
At the end of the webinar participants are encouraged to share any comments or experiences on tackling gender stereotypes in education.
