Tenerife Spanish & Carnival training course
This is one of our most unique programmes. This training course combines learning Spanish with practical activities and visits with local institutions and professionals through the most interesting and unique cultural traditions of the island of Tenerife related to carnival experiences. Tenerife Carnival is one of the most ancient carnivals in all Europe.
Description
Day 1 and two: Presentation meeting and starting of Spanish lessons, morning sessions.
Day 3: Afternoon/evening activity: Election of the Queen of Tenerife Carnival 2025 starting with the exclusive access to the back stage exciting gala preparation. From 9pm access tickets to The Gala Queen Election of Tenerife Carnival Queen. More than 2 hours of an event that bring to the stage more than 600 people.
Day 4: Starting from 10am. Practical Spanish learning experience visiting to San Cristóbal de La Laguna city, Unesco heritage amazing city together with the Spanish teacher.
Day 5: Practical Spanish learning experience: visit to the City Carnival Museum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and visit to the local food & art market “Nuestra Señora de África”. After the visit, we will forward the Certificate of Attendance to participants at the City Carnival Museum “Casa del Carnaval”.
Ƶing objectives
1. Understand the importance of preserving and protecting Tenerife’s cultural traditions and heritage.
2. Develop an appreciation for traditions and diversity found in different locations in Tenerife.
3. Understand the importance of the local population commitment to work and make the Carnival possible year after year.
4. Develop teamwork and communication skills through group team activities.
5. The course will culminate in the co-creation of ideas to help activate, inform, inspire and support their organisations to become involve with preserve traditions.
6. To learn a language through the practical learning of getting in contact with locals and institutions involved in the preparation of Tenerife Carnival.
Methodology & assessment
To those educational professionals who care about the importance of traditions & culture preservation. This is also a training course to learn how to improve a language, in this case the Spanish language, by using the culture & traditions as a channel to connect with local population.
During the course, the participants will job shadow students from all over Europe during their Erasmus placement with designers, make-up artists, craft artisans and other industry professionals preparing and creating their unique designs for the Tenerife Carnival. For more than 15 years, Tenerife Job Training has been working hosting students in this field.
