This course is about bringing audio and the power of hearing back to the classroom. We will learn how to expand our ears and learn again how to actively listen and hear.
Description
The world we are living in the 21st century and how we perceive it, is primarily a visual one. But most people are not aware of how important and significant the sense of hearing is for our daily lives. It is a basic basic requirement for orientation and social interaction. Hearing competence has therefore more and more been included in the school curriculum. Because: Sensory competence is a prerequisite for media competence!
This course is about bringing audio and the power of hearing back to the classroom. We will learn how to expand our ears and learn again how to actively listen and hear.
We will get into audio storytelling, learn how to set up a podcast, learn the basics in theory and practice of creating a radio play (often referred to as “film for the ears“). We will also create our own sounds and get into apps and tools for recording, editing and mixing audio.

- How to plan and write audio stories, how to best capture location audio and to do audio reporting
- How to use online tools to support and improve innovative teaching and learning methods, in order to motivate and encourage students

- Share experiences and ideas with peers from other cultures.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Participants must bring their own laptop or tablet and basic headphones. There will be a course-specific website for the course. Here you will find all teaching materials, digital tools and the practical tasks and exercises for the course participants.
Certification details
80% attendance is mandatory.
The certificate is issued on the last day of the course.

The course fee includes the course. Accommodation, inner-city transportation and meals are not included in the fee. We are happy to provide recommendations for hotels and Airbnb near the course location. A guided city tour is part of the course.

Cancellation & changes:
If the participant cancels the course more than 30 days before the start of the course, all fees will be refunded. If the participant cancels the course between 30 and 7 days before the start of the course, the fee will be refunded in the form of a voucher for future courses. If the participant cancels 7 days before the start of the course, the course fee will not be refunded.
