Lecturing Confidently through English is designed for university lecturers and educators who seek to improve their lecturing skills in English. This practical course emphasizes the development of clear, engaging, and effective content delivery, preparing participants to lecture confidently in an academic setting. By focusing on both the creation of materials and the nuances of spoken English, participants will enhance their ability to captivate and inform their audience. The course also includes opportunities for personalized feedback, helping participants tailor their speech to specific contexts and audiences.

Methodology & assessment

The course follows a hands-on, interactive approach, incorporating real-world lecturing scenarios and peer feedback sessions. Participants will engage in role-playing exercises, simulated lectures, and group discussions to enhance both content creation and delivery.

Personalized feedback from instructors will help refine participants’ speaking skills, and practical tasks will encourage immediate application of strategies learned. Assessment will be based on:

Lecture Delivery Practice: Participants will be assessed on their ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lectures in English.

Content Creation Assignments: Assignments will focus on developing lecture materials that are clear, organized, and appropriate for the academic audience.

Peer and Instructor Feedback: Continuous feedback on speaking clarity, coherence, and effectiveness, helping participants fine-tune their lecturing approach.

Reflective Journals: Participants will maintain journals reflecting on their progress, challenges, and how they are integrating new skills into their lecturing style.

Certification details

All partners will recieve a physical and digital certificate containing their course title, learning outcomes, dates, venue and hours achieved. European Mobility Agreement Signed.
