ºìÌÒÊÓƵ and Act to Save the Earth: Building up a generation of knowledgeable and active European citizens
The 7-day training course addresses critical environmental issues, including biodiversity loss, climate change & pollution. Through engaging activities and discussions, the course participants will learn how to instill in students a commitment to sustainable practices, to guide them in understanding the impact of human actions on the environment & to inspire them to take part in its preservation.
Description
Schooling could play an important role in the process of saving the planet. The realization of this role suggests that teachers, on the one hand, have access to training resources; on the other hand, have the skills to deliver training activities to raise the eco and civic awareness of their students. The younger the students start being involved in trainings and subsequent actions, the better. Structured environmental trainings throughout the school year will result in building up a generation of knowledgeable and active European citizens who care about the future of the planet and act to protect it.
As educators, teachers play a crucial role in shaping the minds and hearts of the next generation. This training course is designed to equip you, the teachers, with the tools and knowledge necessary to teach young learners about environmental issues.
In today’s rapidly evolving world, it is more important than ever to foster a deeper understanding of students’ rights and responsibilities.

Methodology & assessment
The pedagogical methods are based upon experiential training, group and peer activities, learning-by-doing and best practices’ exchange.
Teachers will learn about and participate in implementing a diverse number of non-formal approaches for delivering contents in which the participants are pro-active, e.g. simulations, role plays, interactive video resources, games, group and pair work, mind-mapping, creating artistic productions - collages, dances, etc.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
The designed educational materials are meant to support teachers in fostering students’ civic competences through teaching about environmental topics. The training course comprises a Teachers’ Manual & a Students’ Book. The Teachers’ Manual provides a step-by-step guide to teachers how to teach the topics. It is accompanied by an exclusively rich set of multimedia resources which are complimentary to the training activities. The Students’ Book describes activities from the students’ perspective.
Certification details
At the end of the course, each participant will receive a Declaration of attendance.
We will support the participants in the certification process by delivering a special introductory session devoted to Europass ºìÌÒÊÓƵing agreement and certificate of learning outcomes, as well as daily sessions for discussing and summing up the acquired knowledge and skills which will be described in the Europass ºìÌÒÊÓƵing agreement and certificate of learning outcomes.
