Inclusive Teaching with Artificial Intelligence

This five-day course introduces teachers to the practical and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in inclusive education. Designed for educators with no technical background, it explores how AI can help adapt content, personalize learning, and support students with diverse needs and abilities.

Description

With inclusion at its core, the course examines how AI can reduce barriers, close learning gaps, and promote equity—while also addressing the risks of bias and the importance of ethical classroom use. Teachers will gain insight into how AI can support learners with special needs, language challenges, or different cultural experiences.

Participants will also reflect on intergenerational digital competence and discover ways to bridge the gap between students' and teachers' tech fluency.

Through hands-on activities and collaborative learning, teachers will leave empowered to use AI with purpose, empathy, and confidence.

  • Understand the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and its relevance in education.
  • Explore how AI tools can support inclusive teaching practices by addressing diverse student needs and learning styles.
  • Evaluate the ethical and practical implications of using AI in the classroom, with a focus on bias, accessibility, and data privacy.
  • Identify and integrate AI-powered educational tools to enhance student engagement, personalize learning, and foster equity.
  • Design inclusive lesson plans that thoughtfully incorporate AI technologies to support all learners.
  • Reflect critically on the role of teachers in shaping responsible and inclusive uses of AI in education.

Methodology & assessment

Methodology:
The course combines interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities to engage participants in reflective and experiential learning. Emphasis is placed on peer learning, collaboration, and real-life classroom scenarios. Participants explore evidence-based practices through practical examples and adapt them to their own teaching contexts.

Assessment:
Assessment is formative and reflective in nature. Participants are evaluated through active participation, collaborative tasks, and short reflective assignments. The final task includes designing an inclusive and well-being-focused lesson or activity plan, demonstrating the integration of course concepts into personal teaching practice.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Course materials include articles, videos, and case studies on well-being, inclusion, and innovation. Digital tools such as Padlet, Mentimeter, and Jamboard support collaboration and reflection. Additional resources include toolkits, inclusive teaching guides, and access to a curated list of online platforms for continued learning.

Certification details

Each participant will receive a certificate of completion stating the course title, total number of training hours, main learning objectives, and topics covered. The certificate confirms participation in a structured training programme in line with Erasmus+ quality standards and is suitable for validation within professional development frameworks.
