
BUILDING DIGITAL COMPETENCES
Digital competence is the ability to combine knowledge (theories and principles related to technology), instrumental skills for using digital tools/media and attitudes towards strategic use, openness, critical understanding, creativity, accountability and independence (Anders Skov, internet sociologist, 2016 Center for Digital Dannelse).
Description
This course is therefore designed to help the teachers develop their digital competences and work with IT tasks for pupils at primary and secondary level. During the course, the participants will gain hands-on experience on choosing learning strategies/ digital tools that best suit their students’ needs and on integrating the use of digital tools withing the subject curriculum:
- theoretical background: know - want to know - learned
- sharing of existing knowledge and skills in teaching computer science and computational thinking among the participants.
- SAMR model, iPadagogy Wheel, 24/7 mode or learning to plan digital literacy at the nodal points of learning
- strategies for building students' competences in the subject area of computer science
- planning a lesson from the perspective of building pupil competences
- choosing effective strategies in teaching
- algorithmizing, programming without a computer, with a computer, with robotic tools -
- encryption and coding, unplugged and Tinkering activities

The main objectives of this program are to:
- plan and implement meaningful teaching of Computer Science at primary and secondary level
- use the Digital Literacy document at the key stages of education
- incorporate digital skills into the curriculum
- entice pupils to explore coding and programming around us
- share ideas within the professional community, both in and out of school
