Description

This course provides teachers with an in-depth introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a particular focus on its applications in education. Participants will learn how AI tools can support teaching and learning and develop strategies to use AI responsibly and effectively. The course goes beyond the usual introductions to AI. Participants will discover how to use AI to rethink teaching, encourage creative problem solving while maintaining a human-centered perspective.

Understanding the basics and history of AI.
Identifying and using AI tools to support teaching and learning.
Analyze the role of AI in assessment and evaluation of student performance.
Developing interdisciplinary projects that combine AI and other subject areas (e.g. art, ethics, society).
Developing approaches to teach students critical and reflective thinking about AI.
Reflection on ethical issues and data protection aspects in dealing with AI.
Critical examination of the dangers and challenges of AI.

Methodology & assessment

- Workshops and Interactive Sessions: Hands-on activities, group work, case studies.
- Collaborative Projects: Co-designing lessons, projects, and strategies.
- Reflection and Sharing: Daily reflections, group discussions, and peer learning.
- Cultural Immersion: Exploration of local culture.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Participants must bring their own laptop or tablet and basic headphones. There will be a course-specific website for the course. Here you will find all teaching materials, digital tools and the practical tasks and exercises for the course participants.

Certification details

80% attendance is mandatory.

The certificate is issued on the last day of the course.

Course package content:

The course fee includes the 6-day course. Accommodation, inner-city transportation and meals are not included in the fee. We are happy to provide recommendations for hotels and Airbnb near the course location. A guided city tour is part of the course.

Cancellation & changes:

If the participant cancels the course more than 30 days before the start of the course, all fees will be refunded. If the participant cancels the course between 30 and 7 days before the start of the course, the fee will be refunded in the form of a voucher for future courses. If the participant cancels 7 days before the start of the course, the course fee will not be refunded.
