Combining Approaches in the Literature and Language Ƶing 2022/2023 (Erasmus+ KA229 C.A.L.L. project)

"Combining Approaches in Literature and Language Ƶing", CALL, is a three-year project between four partner high schools from Croatia, Turkey, Romania, and Northern Macedonia. Combining Approaches in the Literature and Language Ƶing 2022/2023 (Erasmus+ KA229 C.A.L.L. project) will cover the activities of the C.A.L.L. project in the school year 2022/2023. and continues on the previous project activities carried out since September 2020, whose materials are found on the TwinSpace of the old platform. The aim of the exchange of good practices between teachers/schools is to strengthen regular curricula and tackle students' poor reading rates and low levels of academic skills achievement (reading, writing). Two educational analyzes were used on which cooperation between schools is based: a SWOT analysis in all 4 schools which showed that students have a low level of academic skills (reading and writing skills) and that most students are in some sort of disadvantaged status (geographical disparities, low economic development of the places in which they live, parental unemployment, low level of parental education, learning disabilities, social barriers) which directly affect their learning success and the achievement of the basic learning skills (reading, writing). Second, the PISA results analyses (Dec 2019) showed how one in five students on average, in all schools, cannot complete basic reading and comprehension tasks. The project was planned with the main objective: to develop a comprehensive approach to literature learning/teaching. In addition, according to a survey conducted in schools, teachers don't use enough ICT tools in the classroom and even when they use them, they don't have a clear perception of all possibilities of strategically planned digital and blended teaching. In addition, schools don't have a clearly defined international development strategy and they lack planned development in the area of curricula and teaching/learning skills and competencies improvement.
