Run a gender-equal world

Gender inequality has long been a social issue that impacts fundamental human rights, resulting in negative consequences for women. Women are more likely to face violence by men and less likely to be able to seek protection due to gender inequalities. Violence against women, abuse, femicide, and discrimination are unfortunately prevalent in our societies. Tackling gender stereotypes as the root causes of gender-based violence remains the key, which is the core of the project activities. According to the Gender Equality Strategy, the vision for Europe is characterized by freedom from violence and stereotypes, a place where women and men in all their diversity, can thrive and become leaders. Furthermore, as part of the Inclusion and Gender equality dimension of the European Education Area, the EC is committed to challenging gender stereotypes in education in order to promote inclusion and gender equality. This is especially important during secondary education when students are transitioning from early to middle adolescence, this period is critical for the internalization of gender stereotypes and norms.
