Gender roles and stereotypes represent a global challenge prevalent to varying extents in all societies. To address this restrictive issue, change must be initiated from the grassroots and commence at the individual level. Egalitarian school environments, crafted by teachers sensitive to gender issues and employing effective methods, will heighten awareness among students and will question the gender roles and stereotypes ingrained in their perceptions.
