Prema Zakonu o hrani: « hrana je svaka tvar ili proizvod prerađen, djelomično prerađen ili neprerađen, a namijenjen je da ga ljudi konzumiraju ili se može očekivati da će ga ljudi konzumirati. Procesima metabolizma u organizmu doprinosu očuvanja homeostaze. Ovim projektom želimo istražiti i objasniti kemijske sastojke hrane. Razumjeti ulogu sastojaka hrane i enzima u metabolizmu hranjivih tvari, dobivanja energije u stanici i omogućavanje života. Prepoznati i predstaviti skupine sastojaka hrane koji predstavljaju opasnost za zdravlje čovjeka. Opisati promjene na sastojcima tijekom prerade i čuvanja hrane. Recognize and present groups of food ingredients that pose a danger to human health. Describe changes in ingredients during food processing and storage.
