Children's literature is very important in a child´s life. The stories can influence children directly and indirectly and they may not always be appropriate. There have always been differences between men and women. However, there has always been someone fighting to achieve equality as we are trying to do in school with the little ones. We must always ensure and encourage an environment of equality between all, inside and outside the school. These two ideas are the ones that have inspired this project. We must ensure that the stories the children have access to, are high quality and encourage values based on respect and equality. With this project we want to combine in a final product (a book), the usage of languages and methodologies of teaching reading and writing skills, as tools to promote equality between men and women through the empowerment of girls.
