TEMSIC: transformative educational methods for social inclusion and global citizenship

One of the TEMSIC project’s main objectives was to build critical, responsible and active global citizenship.

The (TEMSIC) used transformative education techniques which incorporate innovative methods to address global societal problems through education to favour the inclusion of vulnerable students and prevent early school leaving. 

The project has produced a series of resources to develop global citizenship which are available in English, German, Spanish and Italian. 

include resources on game-based education, coeducation, socioemotional education, and for developing critical skills based on a Global Citizenship Education approach.  

engage pupils in a playful way with local and global challenges and include:

  • Our colourful world trip – an active and cooperative game for 3-6-year-old children to learn about language, foods, and dances of the world; 
  • My transformative journey around the world – a game for 6-12-year-old children where students become explorers through question cards to explore and discover geography, biodiversity, cultures, societies and human rights; 
  • Visibles – an escape room-type game designed for 13-16-year-old students to explore the historiography of women who have been made historically invisible and to learn about their contributions in different fields; 
  • Footprint – a cooperative escape room-type game for 16+-year-old students to address the climate crisis and promote their engagement with environmental and social sustainability.
