Collaboration
1. The teachers must decide the plan and the different activities of the project, the timeline, the numbers of pages of the comics, register the pupils. 2. The teachers must present the Twinspace to the pupils. 3. Getting to know each other : pupils upload a photo of themselves and complete their wall on the TwinSpace. Throughout the year in the pupils corner they exchange more point of views, ideas, photos, music , ... 4. It is suggested that on September 26th is the European day of languages students record some messages in their own languages and shot some videos celebrating that event with a European dimension. 5. Creation of the teams of mixed nationalities and of mixed roles. To achieve that each student on a forum had to say some relevant information about him or her and to say which role they wanted to be in the project: scriptwriter, cartoonist, illustrator, translator, designer, painter. The pupils have to register into one of the teams. The teacher must check that not too many pupils from the same nationality are in the same team., the objective is to have a balance. 6. Discussion on the choice of the cities that the cartoon character would visit is done by the pupils through forum and internal emails on the TwinSpace. Once they decided of their destination the scriptwriters write an email to the teacher manager to inform him of their choices. And then scriptwriters can start brainstorming and make propositions of a story and share their ideas via the forum in each group. 7. Scripts are written in the wiki so corrections or changes can be done and approved by the scriptwriters. But of course all members of the team could interact and work safely on the eTwinning platform. 8. Cartoonists convert the scripts into comic pages, previously drawn with black ink in a template. 9. Scanning the comic page. In order to get the best quality a resolution of 300dpi or more is needed. Scanned pages, instructions, pictures and text files in English are uploaded to the TwinSpace. 10. Painters can do their job: in painting the comic pages using The Gimp software. 11. In order to enhance the cooperation and the cultural dimension between our pupils, activities of exchanging ideas on what the cartoon character can bring as souvenirs from his different visits and what he can eat in the different cities can be created on the forum and each participant has the possibility to write down and to reply to a post. 12. The translators start their translations into their own native languages once the script is definitive for every story. 13. Then comes the time for illustrators and pupils who chose to work for the merchandising products of the cartoon character (s) to act and to bring their collaborations to the realization of the cooperative comic book. Illustrations and Merchandising are activities for pupils to create their own designs, all related to the cartoon character (s), to apply in different real objects personalizing them: T-shirts, mugs, bookmarks and stickers..... 14. Time now to compose the comic book using Scribus. 15. Finally the comic book is published in PDF and in a web version with ISSUU and in paper. 16. A goodbye activity for both teachers and pupils. In the suggested activity it is the use of a Padlet wall to post goodbye messages
