Ƶ us for an insightful webinar introducing the European recognition scheme for digital competencies, launching in summer 2025. This new initiative offers a clear and supported pathway for eTwinning teachers to receive recognition of their digital competencies based on the framework and the .  During the webinar, you will:

  • learn how your participation in eTwinning projects and the MOOC series "Unlocking the power of teachers' digital competencies" contributes to the recognition process.
  • understand the step-by-step journey: from self-reflection and professional development to project implementation and certification.
  • discover how your achievements in the National Quality Label can support your certification.
  • receive practical guidance on how to begin preparing for the scheme ahead of its official launch.

About the speakers

benjamin
Benjamin Hertz

Benjamin Hertz is the Senior Pedagogical Manager at European Schoolnet, working for eTwinning and the European School Education Platform, the European Commission’s platform for the school education community. He is responsible for the pedagogical management of the European Schoolnet Academy, the first European MOOC platform dedicated to K12 education professionals, coordinating professional development activities for teachers and is part of the team that designed the European recognition scheme for teachers' digital competencies. Benjamin has a background in educational technology with a particular interest in online learning and teacher professional development. Benjamin holds an MPhil degree in European Politics and a teacher qualification from the University of Oxford. 

nikolaos
Nikolaos Mouratoglou

Dr Nikolaos Mouratoglou works as a Pedagogical and Monitoring Manager at European Schoolnet, working for eTwinning and the European School Education Platform, the European Commission’s platform for the school education community. He is coordinating professional development activities for teachers, teacher educators and future teachers, monitoring the impact of eTwinning across Europe and is part of the team that designed the European recognition scheme for teachers' digital competencies. He coordinates and supports the development of eTwinning in initial vocational education and training, as well as in initial teacher education under the initiative of “eTwinning for future teachers”. He holds a degree in Philosophy and Pedagogy, three master's degrees (ICT in Education, Counselling and Vocational Guidance, Adult Education) and a PhD in Educational Psychology, Educational Technology and Pedagogy.
