This course emphasizes reducing consumption and adopting sustainable lifestyles. Participants will reflect on how to change their habits and teach environmental sustainability effectively. It offers practical examples, facts, statistics, videos, and interactive exercises for adaptation in teaching.

Description
The participants of this course will reflect on how they can make concrete changes in their own lifestyles and change their consumption habits in order to be better equipped to teach environmental sustainability to their students. Through a hands-on and practical approach, the course will provide examples of green consumption and a toolbox with fact-based information.

Day 1
- Ice breaking: creating an effective learning environment
- Group reflection based on fact-based information & statistics
- What are our consumption patterns?
- What is the environmental impact of the products we use?
- Exchanging good practices on how to reduce consumption
Day 2
- Teaching about sustainability in nature
- The importance of connecting with nature in order to protect it
Day 3
- Visit at an ecological garden
- Garden-based learning to teach sustainability
Day 4
- Individual vs governmental responsibility. Who has the environmental responsibility?
- The importance of collective actions
- Teaching through examples & case studies
Ƶing objectives
- To understand the concepts of responsible/sustainable/green/ethical consumption.
- To reflect on the importance of the effective use of natural and manufactured resources, and minimization of waste and pollution.
- To increase self-awareness about alternative consumption patterns.
- To get to know concrete examples of how to reduce consumption and change consumption patterns.
- To learn how to deliver upcycling workshops in order to increase environmental awareness.
- To learn how to design low-budget activities using recycled materials.
- To learn how to maintain a constructive, optimist attitude in class when discussing delicate issues (global warming, industrial food production, child labor etc.)
- To exchange best practices with other teachers on how to teach environmental issues
- To get inspired on how to encourage a stimulating and open learning environment and foster collective learning.
Methodology & assessment
Tenerife Courses uses:
Active learning and experiential methodologies
Participative approach: group exercises, role plays, experiments, case studies, simulation exercises etc.

We will provide the participants with the learning materials after the course (PPT, PDF, and other documents and resourses) in digital form.
Certification details
At the end of the course, we provide:

- Europass document (if the sending organization issues one)
Our certificates abide by the Erasmus Quality Standards. They include a short description of the course and its learning outcomes, dates, venue, the name of the course provider and the course instructor(s).
We support you with preparing the Ƶing Agreements as well as any other documents that might be needed for your institution.

Cancellation & changes:
Tenerife Courses and EDUPLUS Association are not liable for expenses due to force majeure, including cancelled flights or related travel, accommodation, or food costs. If participants cannot attend, they may be replaced by someone from the same organization or join a future course. Course fees are refundable only if cancellation is mandated by official authorities (EU, government, or National Agency). If rescheduling is declined, a €150 cancellation fee per participant applies.
