Description

The demanding world of education often leaves teachers feeling overwhelmed and stressed. The has even introduced goals related to health and well-being in school education, considering a top priority. This one-week course offers educators the opportunity to embark on a transformative journey towards finding inner peace, balance, and well-being through mindfulness practices. Participants will explore mindfulness techniques, stress reduction strategies, and self-care practices tailored to the unique challenges faced by educators.

Target Audience:

This course is tailored for educators and youth workers at all levels, including primary, secondary, and higher education, as well as professionals passionate about enhancing their well-being. Participants will learn practical mindfulness tools while traveling with Erasmus+.

Module 1: Introduction to Mindfulness
Understanding the foundations of mindfulness
Introduction to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to health and well-being
The benefits of mindfulness in education
Reflecting on personal well-being and stress levels
Exchange of practices in school curricula across Europe
Module 2: Mindfulness Practices
Exploring various mindfulness techniques (e.g., meditation, breath awareness)
Practicing mindfulness exercises to enhance focus and clarity
Adapting mindfulness practices for busy schedules
Module 3: Stress Management and Resilience
Identifying sources of stress in the teaching profession
Strategies for managing stress and enhancing emotional resilience
Creating a supportive environment for teacher well-being
Module 4: Mindful Teaching and Ƶing
Applying mindfulness in the classroom to improve teaching and student engagement
Mindful communication with students, colleagues, and parents

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Attendees will receive handouts and self-evaluation forms as well as feedback forms on the course itself. Social networking will be set up to maintain contact after the end of the course and continue any discussions begun during the course, as well as to exchange feedback on how the skills taught in the course are being implemented.
Additional modules are available for subject- and issue- specific topics, and these can be delivered at a later date or via webinar.
