This two-week course combines mindfulness, creativity, and Humanistic Contextual Education to equip educators with tools to foster emotional well-being, inspire creativity, and address social issues through art, culture, and innovative teaching strategies.

Description

  • This comprehensive program integrates mindfulness practices with Humanistic Contextual Education (HEC), empowering educators to create engaging, creative, and emotionally supportive classrooms. Week one focuses on developing self-care routines and mindfulness techniques, such as breathing exercises, yoga, and meditation, to enhance resilience and emotional intelligence. Participants will explore ICT tools, STEAM and creative activities to inspire innovative thinking and problem-solving.
  • Week two dives into the potential of art and culture in education, exploring HEC principles to design interdisciplinary lessons addressing social issues. Through hands-on workshops, participants will learn to implement mental games, the photovoice method, and artistic activities to enrich the classroom experience and foster student engagement. The course provides ready-to-use resources, strategies, and tools for educators to create vibrant, mindful, and creative learning environments.

Methodology & assessment

Modes of Teaching: Interactive workshops, cultural and outdoor activities, hands-on art projects, group discussions, and reflective exercises.
Methodology: Experiential learning through real-life applications, project-based assignments, and collaborative design tasks.
Assessment: Peer feedback, project presentations, reflective journals, and evaluation of creative teaching materials designed during the course.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

  • Materials: Guided mindfulness scripts, art supplies, photovoice activity kits, and templates for mental games.
  • Digital Tools: Innovative ICT apps for mindfulness and creativity (e.g., Canva, Padlet), guided audio/video tools, and a digital handbook.
  • Ƶing Resources: Ready-to-use lesson plans, interdisciplinary teaching materials, and access to an online community for resource-sharing and collaboration.

  • Course package content:
    • The total cost of the seven-day course is €800 (€80 per day). This includes:

      • Tuition fees
      • Course materials
      • One guided city tour
      • Coffee breaks
      • All required documentation (certificates, Ƶing Agreement, Ƶing Agreement Complement, Europass Mobility document)

      Additionally, we offer optional cultural trips during the course, which are arranged with a trusted local company. Details and pricing will be available one month before the course begins.

  • Cancellation & changes:

    must be communicated via Mail (courses@spatiateacheracademy.eu).

    Enrolled students who cannot take part in the course for any reasons can always be replaced by another participant from the same organization, free of charge.

    If students cancel at least 3 months before the beginning of the course(s), SPATIA will refund the entire amount.

    In case of force majeure the Foundation will offer the possibility to change dates and course free of charge.
