This course is designed to help English Language teachers develop and refresh their skills by observing a range of methodologies in action in the ELT classroom. The course provides an overview of the latest methodologies, explores new materials, and discusses how to make creativity a cornerstone. You can attend this programme at Atlantic Centre of Education in Galway in the West of Ireland.
Description
By observing our trainers in the classroom, participants in Job Shadowing for English Language Teachers will have the opportunity to analyse new practices and approaches. In follow-up workshops, participants are invited to discuss and analyse what they have observed while exploring ways to enhance their teaching skills. The course will provide an overview of the latest methodologies in teaching languages, explore new materials, and discuss how to make creativity a cornerstone of your teaching practice. You will work on some lesson materials personalized to your teaching context which will be presented at the end of the week.

- Participate in directed classroom observations of a fellow teaching professional, one of our expert language teachers
- Analyse observed teaching practices eg. differentiation, inclusion, the flipped classroom, and presenting in a foreign language
- Relate observations to your teaching practices and context
- Focus on activities and practices you can implement in your classrooms.

- Refresh and upskill your teaching while sharing experiences with fellow education professionals
- Gain confidence from using your English skills in international group classes
- Build intercultural awareness through shared cultural and social activities.
Methodology & assessment
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Trainers use a blend of textual and digital resources, taking full advantage of the smart board technology in use in all Atlantic Centre of Education classrooms. Visual aids, including video, film, photography, and audio recordings blend with traditional textual materials drawn from textbooks, journalism, blog posts etc. Many courses utilise ed-tech tools which participants can adapt to enhance their teaching practices.
