
EP 5. Bi-Component Training Course for Teachers
This is a 2 week training course that gives you the chance to improve your Spanish and gain insight into the organization and teaching in a School of Spanish.
This course is suitable for teachers of any level of Spanish who are non-native speakers of Spanish.

Pre-Course Preparation

Objectives
The intention is to refresh the teaching skills of existing teachers of Spanish and/or to help in the re-training of teachers of other languages and other subjects and also to create opportunities for an international transfer of knowledge and skills through peer-networking during the Shadowing.
Week 1: General Spanish: from beginner upwards: this course involves small group teaching, allowing concentrated, thorough study of Spanish, and develops all aspects of the language - listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course will develop the participants’ language skills to help increase their abilities to teach and communicate in Spanish.
Week 2: School Attachment: the participating teacher(s) will spend the 2nd week shadowing teachers of Spanish.
Follow-up Spanish: each afternoon (week 2) the participant(s) will have 1 lesson of Spanish in which they will be able to cover linguistic items at their level which they have identified as hindering their Shadowing
Methodology & assessment
Week 2: School Attachment: The teacher participants will gain an invaluable insight into teaching Spanish and an opportunity for professional networking and interchange of ideas and experiences. An excellent professionally and culturally enriching experience.
Week 2: Follow-up Spanish: additional Spanish focusing on areas at the participant’s level which can enhance the Shadowing experience. In a class of 1-10 participants.
