Description

Course participants are provided with a combination of online resources, a variety of media and authentic and interesting texts. Emphasis is placed on developing the strategies for effective listening, reading and speaking in both informal and formal settings.

Upon completion, participants should be able to demonstrate improved comprehension, accuracy and fluency, which will enable them to participate in activities appropriate to academic and professional settings.

This course although structured, is designed to be flexible and can be adapted to suit the specific needs of the participants.

Important note: ‘English for Educators: advance your career (Level I)’ course is for teachers/educators and administrative workers who have an Elementary (A2) up to Intermediate (B1) level of English, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This is the 5-day training course that can be funded by Erasmus+ KA1 programme (staff mobility)

• Improve communication skills in English
• Understand the structures of English language and develop vocabulary and fluency
• Enhance self-confidence in spoken English in educational as well as professional setting
• Seize opportunities for cooperation with peers on international level

Methodology & assessment

The course methodology will ensure the active involvement of the participants in all phases, that is, prior, during and after the delivery of the course. More specifically, upon confirmation that the course will take place, the participants will receive preparatory material (if needed), which will cover all important concepts to be presented during the delivery of the course. The participants will have the opportunity to exchange feedback with the organiser of the course, ShipCon, and the trainer as well as to request any clarification related to the content of the course.
The methodology of the training is based on a combination of three important elements:
Provision of knowledge required (theory)
Use of training tools, such as case studies, videos, games, animations & exercises (practice – hands on experience)
Feedback/reflection (review)

Moreover, it offers the possibility to a school/organisation, which already paid the course/training fee, this course/training fee to be transferred to another participant from the same school/organisation to any ShipCon confirmed – future – course.
In case participant is asking for reimbursement of the course fee less than 2 weeks before the commencement of the course then there is an admin charge of 50 Euros. In case of participant is asking for reimbursement of the course fee less than one week before the commencement of the course there is an admin charge of 100 Euros.
