Daily Programme
Day of arrival: Typical local aperitif (optional)
Day 1
• Welcoming and introductions
• Individual orientation and information about the venue and the city
• Ice-breaking and team-building activities
• Individual expectations, setting goals for the week
• Introduction to European citizenship: History, principles, and values
• The role of education in fostering European citizenship
• How to introduce European citizenship concepts in classroom discussions
Day 2
• Session of questions and answers concerning the content discussed during Day 1
• Understanding European institutions: How they work and their impact on education
• Rights and responsibilities of European citizens
• Exploring the European Youth Strategy and Erasmus+ opportunities
• Civic engagement and participatory democracy
• Developing activities to encourage student participation in European democracy
• Dinner in a typical restaurant
Day 3
• Session of questions and answers
• Inclusion and diversity in European education: Best practices
• Strategies for integrating European values into school curricula
• Critical thinking and media literacy in the digital age
• Workshops on project-based learning for active citizenship
• Creating lesson plans to teach European citizenship in different subjects
• Guided visit of the city. Cultural activities (visit of local museums) and enjoy the famous homemade traditional food specialties.
Day 4
• Designing lesson plans on European citizenship
• Exploring materials and resources for European education
• Adapting and creating activities that promote civic engagement
• Discussing how to implement active citizenship in schools and measuring the impact of European identity in education.
• Project work: Developing a European citizenship project for schools
• Implementing school-wide initiatives to promote European values
Day 5
• Presentation of project works
• Space for discussion of future cooperation and planning follow-up activities
• Course roundup and final evaluation
• Validation of learning outcomes and certification ceremony
• Participants’ departure
• Guided cultural visit to Prague (optional)
Ƶing objectives
Objectives:
During this course, participants will explore the most important and fundamental concepts of active European citizenship by:
• Understanding the principles and values of European citizenship.
• Exploring the European institutions and their impact on education.
• Discussing the importance of civic engagement and democratic participation.
• Developing strategies to promote European identity and inclusion in schools.
• Ƶing how to integrate European citizenship into school curricula and classroom activities.
• Exchanging best practices and experiences with educators from different European countries.
Methodology & assessment
Led by professionals of education with a real experience of teaching, the course will take the form of hands-on workshops with exchanges of practices, brainstorming, analysis and real case scenario examples, participants will reflect on the tools and strategies that will make an impact in their daily practice. A great emphasis will be therefore put on collaboration and interaction between participants to create relevant resources and projects that each of them will be able to take back to school.

Certification details
Each participant will be granted a Certificate of Attendance as well as Certificate of Obtained Competences.
If requested - a Europass Mobility Certificate will be issued.

- For cancellations done at least 30 days before the start of the internship: full reimbursement
