Description

"Collaboration Matters" equips teachers with tools to strengthen teamwork and communication in diverse cultural contexts. Teachers face barriers like time constraints, unresolved conflicts, and varying cultural attitudes towards collaboration, which can hinder their ability to model teamwork for students. This course addresses these challenges through hands-on activities, real-world case studies, and role-playing exercises that simulate collaboration dynamics. Participants bring their own experiences and challenges to create a highly relevant and practical learning environment. The course covers communication techniques, conflict resolution strategies, and methods to teach collaboration in inclusive classrooms. Participants will explore the role of cultural diversity in shaping teamwork, learning how to turn it into a strength. By the end, participants will feel confident in fostering collaboration and join a network of European educators committed to promoting teamwork in education.

By the end of the training, participants will:

  • Understand the fundamentals of effective collaboration, with a focus on cultural nuances in diverse educational settings.
  • Develop communication and conflict resolution strategies to overcome barriers to teamwork.
  • Gain practical, experiential learning tools to foster collaboration among colleagues and students.

Methodology & assessment

The training uses an experiential learning approach, emphasizing active engagement, reflection, and practical application. Participants work in groups, engaging in exercises like role-playing, problem-solving scenarios, and case study analysis. Real-world challenges, contributed by the participants, are tackled collaboratively to ensure relevance and applicability. Cultural diversity is explored through interactive activities that simulate collaboration dynamics, helping participants understand its impact on teamwork. This hands-on methodology ensures participants not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also practice and refine their skills in a safe and supportive environment. While formal assessments are not conducted, continuous feedback, individual and group reflections, and peer discussions are integral to the learning process, allowing participants to track their progress and refine their approaches throughout the training.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Participants will receive comprehensive handouts, method descriptions, and curated links to online resources. Part of these materials will be co-created during the training, integrating participants’ input and real-world challenges. This ensures tailored, practical tools for immediate application in schools. Online resources provide further insights, fostering continued learning and collaboration post-training.

Certification details

Participants will receive a certificate at the end of the course, stating dates, duration, place, and learning objectives.
