Description
Content and Language Integrated ºìÌÒÊÓƵing (CLIL) and Dual-language Bilingual (DBL) education are innovative instructional approaches that aim to support the language and content learning of multilingual students. CLIL refers to the teaching of subjects such as science, math, history, and social studies, through a foreign or second language, whereas DBL is an educational program that teaches academic content in two languages.
The main goal of CLIL and DBL is to support the development of students’ language proficiency in addition to their content knowledge. This approach is based on the idea that students learn best when they are actively engaged in the process of understanding and using new information and concepts. By providing opportunities for students to use the language in authentic and meaningful contexts, CLIL and DBL aim to enhance students’ language proficiency while also helping them to achieve academic success.
CLIL and DBL also have a positive impact on intercultural understanding and communication, as they expose students to different cultures and ways of thinking. They also support the development of cognitive skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, which are essential for academic success and future employability.
This training course is designed to provide educators with an in-depth understanding of the principles and practices of CLIL & DBL, and the skills necessary to design and implement effective CLIL & DBL instructional strategies in the classroom.
