The project involves teachers from Italy (Piedmont) who have been trained in civic education by the USR Piedmont and ISTORETO and teachers from Turkey and Romania.The "We are worth!" project uses picture books as tools to guide pupils to discover European values and their application in life. The students will be involved in the stories by a book-loving ‘dragon friend’, who lives a lot of missions with them. On each mission, the pupils will learn what the values of the European Union are, and take action for the community.Pupils will use English as a lingua franca to communicate with partners. This creates a multilingual context where English facilitates intercultural communication. Participation in the project will involve the implementation of tasks related to the use of Web 2.0 tools, which will contribute to the development of access to users.
In the student webinar, our students first introduced themselves. Then we learned the meaning of the word dragon in other languages ​​and made a model of the dragon Franklin.
My students loved Franklin's Flying Bookstore. It is very touching, original and enjoyable. The illustrations are also in perfect harmony with the text. We talked to the children about the book and came to a conclusion that we should not be prejudiced.
