"Water flows and always finds its way". In the age of climate change, this Turkish proverb has a profound meaning, both literal and symbolic. Water management has become a major issue in many countries. No matter how much protection mankind puts in place, water gets through, creating increasingly frequent and devastating floods. Coastal erosion threatens thousands of seaside towns, putting many populations on the brink of mass and catastrophic emigration. But when water is nowhere to be seen and nowhere to be found, starvation threatens all ecosystems and risks destabilising all societies.
And yet we must keep up our courage, because water is like hope. It always finds a way to build a better, fairer and more sustainable world. We believe in prevention and education to help shape this planet for future generations.
We are teacher trainers from Turkey, Germany, Italy, Spain and France and we have been working together for several years to empower our student teachers with 21st century skills. One of these is to help them raise awareness of sustainable development among young learners.
