Truth and knowledge make us free

Our young people suffer without knowing the internet and its dangers. Schools must make students and their families aware of the need to know the dangers of the network well and to know how to use each device with awareness. Do not trust everything you read online but acquire a critical spirit and verify all the sources of news to safeguard democracy and freedom of thought becomes a task that only schools can perform. The project will develop vertically, involving children ranging from the age of 6 to 13 years olds. The teachers and students involved will follow different paths related to the age of the students. However, there will be times when the older children will work together with the younger ones to teach what they have learned. The first steps of the project will be shared, then we will start working with the partners on shared themes by age. The state police forces will be involved to discuss online safety while journalists will show us the strategies to distinguish fake news. The project also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), by fostering students’ development as responsible digital citizens who think critically and make informed choices.
