SustainMe

Our project, sustain.me is a collaborated endeavour put together by a group of teachers from Arles, De Panne, Hamburg, Rome and Seville to deal with the issue of sustainability. Mindless consumerism, food waste, fast fashion and problems such as unsustainable tourism are issues across all partner schools and countries. In our project, sustain.me, the students will audit their personal behaviours regarding (1) food, (2) clothing and (3) tourism and analyse production chains and their social and ecological effects while also taking energy, waste and transport into account. The idea is to start from a more personal level (What do I eat? What do I wear? etc) and then broaden their perspective onto a more social level (Who shops where? How does fashion influence our buying habits? Where do I live? Where do I travel to? and so on) taking into account that these activities generate waste and require energy.
