STEM for Water

The main motivation behind this project idea is to increase students’ awareness against water related issues such as misuse of water resources, pollution of lakes, rivers, seas etc. Students, especially those with some further disadvantages such as those from families with financial problems, etc, will be encouraged to work on water related issues and generate some STEM, Robotics, ICT etc. based solutions to prove both that these problems can be solved and such students with lower profile can overcome their difficulties if essential conditions are supplied. Through the development of products and outcomes, theproject will foster a supplementary approach to language teaching and learning. The educational materials produced in the project can be utilized both in the STEM subjects and in English teaching processes, incorporating real-life examples for a more engaging learning experience. Students will have their own self-learning responsibility through a series of brainstorming meetings, students’ forum on water problems, generating solutions in teamwork etc.; thus the project will enable these students with some disadvantages with cross-national skills. Combining water related issues based on STEM, Robotics, ICT together with peerlearning and language skills makes our efforts innovative and creative which will foster both students and teachers to create and use new educational materials and generate some original solutions to water related problems.
