Sing up! Sing Maths!

What are the roles of foreign languages in the Primary school classroom? It is a subject to be taught as such. But it can regain its status as a language of communication if it is used to teach other subjects. It also conveys a culture, which can be both an object of study and an experience. We will therefore encourage interdisciplinarity and CLIL in English in the following two subjects: ● Music ● Mathematics Through Music, students will be able to explore the musical heritage of their own country but also of partner countries. Traditional nursery rhymes and songs will be shared and allow each student to experience the culture of the other. English will only be used as a language of communication for the music, while plurilingualism will be encouraged thanks to the heritage shared by the partner countries: Spain, France, Morocco….. Mathematics will allow the culture of the other to be approached through the different teaching practices of the partner countries. The aim will be to make students aware of CLIL practices.
