Primary School in Purda, Poland
location
The school is located in the village of Purda in the north of Poland, in Warmia and Mazury region. Warmia and Mazury is also known as Thousands Lakes Region. It is must see when visiting Poland! Purda is surrounded by forests and lakes. The nearest city is Olsztyn, the capital of the region.
school
Approximately 100 students attend the school in classes 1-8. They start school at the age of 7 and graduate at the age of 15. Lessons begin at 8 am and finish at 3 pm. Younger students finish school at 12 or 1 pm.
The school building is small. However there's a construction site in the school yard right now. Soon there will be a new gym, a canteen and a few new classrooms!
teachers
There are three teachers involved in the project flow: Krystyna Izdebska (a coordinator and an English teacher), Katarzyna Marchwica (an early childhood education teacher and a librarian), Marlena Kozubek (an IT, maths and technology teacher).
students
Students of classes 3 and 6 eagerly embraced the challenge to create games with the use of recycled materials. They want to learn in a students friendly way, meet and cooperate with peers from abroad as well as increase their eco awareness.
