P.A.S.S. 2023 Permaculture Awareness in Secondary Schools 2023

Permaculture; It is the creation of a sustainable and self-sufficient production structure that is easy to maintain by bringing plants, animals and people together in the smallest possible areas. Agricultural practices, which include the production of high quality and sufficient foodstuffs for humanity in harmony with nature and sustainable criteria, are based on not destroying natural resources and using them efficiently. Such food production practices aim to increase the economic contribution. Students will learn the importance of ecological and sustainable agriculture and its difference from traditional agriculture, to distinguish the main vegetable seedlings, to use natural fertilizers and insect repellents in the fight against pests, and to learn appropriate irrigation methods. Our students, who have gained awareness of permaculture, will be able to use their school gardens, classrooms or their own gardens to produce seasonal products in line with their possibilities and to observe the process.
