Humans are beings who think, research, question, aim to change the world, dominate living beings and improve their living conditions. This mission is literally embedded in people’s genes. For this reason, humanity has shown constant movement and change like a river throughout history. Sometimes this change has been a development, and sometimes it has turned into major problems that threaten humanity and all living beings and the ecosystem. Our project was created to raise students who are conscious environmentalists on the issues of environment and climate change, based on these problems. The foundation of the problems we are talking about was laid in the last two hundred years. Humanity accelerated this movement with the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century and made technological breakthroughs that would radically change the world. This change brought about by uncontrolled and irresponsible industrialization has also brought about the concept of “climate change” since the 20th century due to the environmental problems it created. The Industrial Revolution brought about environmental problems and psychological, social and some economic problems experienced by people who could not keep up with the rapid change brought about by uncontrolled industrialization. The 21st century, which we are in and is called with many names referring to information such as “Technology Age”, Digital Age” and “Millennial Age”, has greatly contributed to the modernization of society and the increase in the quality of life of people due to the increase in communication tools. However, the 21st century has also brought about similar problems brought about by the Industrial Revolution. Many problems such as difficulty in using mental skills, social incompatibility, difficulty in communicating due to the misuse of technology negatively affect our children in particular. The incredible speed of technology in the 21st century necessitates the emergence of a “new type of human” that can keep up with this rapid change. At the same time, this new type of human has to take environmental measures to protect both its own existence and the ecosystem, and to prevent global warming. Our project has been prepared with the aim of producing concrete solutions with a realistic perspective and scientifically based research methods on climate change and various environmental problems. This is only possible with individuals who have versatile skills, high-level thinking skills, and who can keep up with the changes required by the age, as we describe them with the concept of “new type of human”. Solving environmental problems and preventing climate change necessitates global cooperation. For this reason, the European Union has set forth the Sustainable Development Goals in order to follow a common path in combating climate change and environmental problems. Our project focuses on the following topics based on the European Union Sustainable Development Goals: 1. Climate Change and Climate Action, 2. Environmental Pollution, 3. Sustainable Cities and Communities, 4. Life on Land, 5. Life in Water, 6. Environmental Education, 7. Recycling.
