Our OLYMPIC project
OLYMPIC : Olympic Legacies, Youth Milestones, Progress, Inclusion and Change
This project entitled “OLYMPIC : Olympic Legacies, Youth Milestones, Progress, Inclusion and Change”, gathers student from different European countries who will have the opportunity to work in collaboration on the topic of sport. Indeed, as the 2024 Olympic Games will be held in Paris, a European city, our goal is to explore the importance and role of sports in various aspects such as politics, history, health, as well as the fight against racism, gender stereotypes and disability.
All along the project and through the various activities, our young European students will :
- explore “Olympic Legacies” : they will discover memorable events from past Olympic Games and understand how they have influenced our world;
- achieve “Youth Milestones” : they will encourage young people to be engaged as citizens, to set personal goals fostering individual and collective development;
- initiate “Progress” : they will discover and show how sport leads to progress working on history and society issues.
- become aware of the role that sport events play in “Inclusion” and how it can transcend social, cultural and physical barriers;
- foster positive “Change”: analyze how sports and athletes can be catalysts for positive change in areas such as politics, health, and the fight against discriminations.
In order to reach our objectives, students will work collaboratively with their partners using English as the language of communication. They will use digital tools and online platforms to facilitate collaboration, allowing them to communicate, share ideas, research and projects and to create. They will have the opportunity to launch stimulating challenges to their partners’ schools encouraging innovation and engagement.
This project will create connections among European young citizens, broaden their understanding of sport beyond the playing field, and encourage critical thinking, creativity, engagement and social responsibilities. By working together, our young citizens will have a role to play as actors of change, inspired by Olympic spirit to build a better future !
Challenges organized in our schools will actively involve the entire community, including teachers, students, and even parents who may not be directly involved in the project. Student will engage in various activities with the goal of producing podcasts, ebooks, participating in debates… these multimedia outputs will be shared online and made accessible, in compliance with applicable laws to project our students identity, to inspire individuals to engage in sports and as citizens who have a role to play in inclusion and change, grasp the significance of physical activities, encourage self-reflection and cultivate a broader perspective on the Olympic Games.
