Oh my god?!...

In Europe we are people with different backgrounds and religions. Though Christianity was the base of Europe, nowadays new faiths and values changed the identity of Europe. Every country has a unique history. In the past religion was a reason to have an argument or worse, but nowadays students live and work together no matter with religion they belong to. To know each other´s religion, norms and values, incites mutual understanding. Our initial aim is to create awareness of the (former) religion and religious cultures of the partner countries through examination of religions, norms and values, behaviour, languages, festivities, games, food, arts and sacret objects. This comparison and analysis of religious similarities and differences will be of great interest for the students, teachers and families of all participating countries. The communication language will be English. This will be a cross curricular project, since the students will explore aspects of their own religion including music, arts, history, religious geography, maths, reading extracts of the holy books and food related to religion. The project will be involved as much as possible in the subjects curriculum. Students will pursue their research at both national and international levels. Some survey results will be shown through graphics and published in the Twinspace so all the countries can compare them. Our Religion project represents the continuous linking of past, present and future. The final products will include a joint religious calendar, a compilation of habits related to religions and food, religious enactments, a chartlist of religious songs and outcomings of the various surveys. The eTwinspace will be the tool to publish all the products and for communication and collaboration.
