Nature's Footprint

Environment; It refers to the biological environment in which living things maintain their relationships and interact with each other throughout their lives. Despite this definition, since the beginning of the 20th century, with the rapid increase in industry and industrialization, many environmental problems have emerged due to air, water and soil pollution, changing climatic conditions, the gradual disappearance of plant and animal species, and improper evaluation of wastes. is increasing even more. Environmental education as a solution to this; aims to raise individuals who are sensitive to the environment and have positive attitudes and behaviors in environmental protection. At the same time, effective solutions for the solution of environmental problems are only possible with environmental education. Since there is a direct relationship between environmental problems and environmental education, it is also important to determine students' perspectives and awareness levels on environmental problems.Environmental education should support the process of transforming the information given to students into consciousness and consciousness into action. Our primary goal in this project is to draw attention to environmental pollution and to successfully implement waste management, based on the work of the European Union in the field of sustainable development.Other expected goals with this project are:Gaining environmental awareness, to understand the importance of climate change for the world, strengthening the bond between students and nature, to prevent environmental pollution by reducing the amount of waste, learning about waste materials and gaining waste management awareness, to understand the importance of recycling, learn about the carbon footprint, producing with waste materials, improving hand skills, to produce solutions to environmental problems with different approaches and learning techniques, to raise awareness, to recognize innovative teaching methods, to be inspired by these approaches, adding different techniques to the school curriculum, to ensure the active participation of disadvantaged students in the project through inclusive activities. As a result of the project, a booklet called 'Environmental Awareness and Management' will be prepared for primary schools, which includes environmental pollution, its causes, the importance of waste separation, the concept of permaculture and the creation of permaculture gardens. This book will be a helpful resource for school curricula and a common environmental awareness will be created. Classroom environments will be arranged for students and waste corners will be created. Education on the environment will be provided by creating peer groups from different age groups and disadvantaged students. Thus, environmental awareness will be spread from the bottom up.
