The project aims to be an international extension of an experience that has been going on in Italy for nine years. This event was born from an idea of ​​Rocco Schembra, teacher of Latin and Greek at the "Gulli e Pennisi" Classical High School in Acireale, to demonstrate the validity and relevance of classical studies. This National Night was then extended to the Italian national territory (up to 430 participating Italian high schools) and since last school year non-Italian schools have also been involved (five countries involved and 10 non-Italian schools). The schools that join the project on the same date (this year 19 April 2024, from 6pm to midnight) will open their doors to the area, they will welcome students with their families, friends etc ... to involve them in specially prepared activities; various performances related to their studies and the exaltation of the formative value of classical culture will be proposed (reading marathons, theatrical performances, concerts, debates, presentations of volumes, meetings with authors, short films, cineforums, tastings/banquets inspired by the ancient world etc ...). Schools participating in the project will be able to coordinate their actions in the Twinspace, exchange material, ideas and create new materials to share with other partners and to be used during the final event.
