Living Values Education

Values are abstract, subjective beliefs with varying degrees of significance that guide human life. They represent emotionally based subjective beliefs that are desired and applicable to all situations, defining individual norms and attitudes regarding what is "right" or "wrong." In line with these definitions, organized educational programs related to values are aimed at being implemented systematically throughout the educational journey. The goal is for children to acquire these values from an early age, fostering social unity, healthy interpersonal relationships, preservation of family structure, and the cultivation of new generations that prioritize truth, goodness, and beauty. Ultimately, this contributes to the establishment of a world order characterized by high levels of well-being and peaceful coexistence. The formation of moral personality in humans occurs during a specific period and process. The role of the environment providing behavioral examples during this period is quite significant. "The primary place that shapes a person's moral character is their immediate surroundings. Therefore, based on the assumptions outlined above, programs should establish the foundation for which values can be internalized by children at different stages of their development. The importance of the immediate environment, including both school and family, is crucial for children to acquire fundamental values. Our project called "Living Values Education" is formed based on an international project prepared by Brahma Kumaris for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the United Nations in 1995. In addition, in the "100th Anniversary of the Republic: Future Outlook in Education Report" prepared under the coordination of the Board of Education and Discipline, there are many topics under the main headings of "Educational Philosophy and Values", "Technology and Education", "New Approaches in Education", "Sustainability and Education". The subject is included. In this context, our project; Targeting the subject of "Educational Philosophy and Values" Placing a systematic education philosophy on the basis of the education system, ensuring the widespread adoption of root values such as justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, kindness, diligence, responsibility, patriotism and solidarity included in the curriculum, universal, national and spiritual It was created to make a positive contribution to the raising of virtuous generations who embrace their values, to increase academic success, thus to make students happy with less anxiety about the future, and therefore to increase the welfare of the society and to ensure well-being, which is our annual eTwinning theme with values. This project, which we planned to start in February, was restructured as a result of the meeting we held with our partners and it was decided to organize activities with the values we chose in line with our needs.
