The little European tortoise that will change our lives

Each school will investigate the Caretta Caretta tortoise, its characteristics and habitat. The schools will conclude that although they are in distant and different places in Europe, their characteristics are very similar and are beneficial so that our turtle can inhabit all these environments. Therefore we have a common task, to take care of this environment so that our turtle can live in it. We will work on different types of texts: descriptions, presentations, informative and expository texts, both orally and in writing. Given the characteristics of the students, they will preferably be oral. The students will name this turtle and “travel” with it, knowing the different countries where it will make its stops. At these stops we will learn about their beaches, how they protect and conserve them and we will condense a code of conduct among boys and girls on how to behave when we go to one of our beaches.

The class VC produced a digital book, with a story invented by the children that tells the man-made problems of pollution and the environment,through the story of a turtle.

The ebook is inclusive in fact it offers the possibility even to dyslexic children to be able to read it without getting tired, since the Open dyslexic font has been deliberately used.
