The Hundred Ways to Be

This European eTwinning project invites young learners to explore the connection between nature, myth and creativity through the voice of Gaia — the personification of Earth in Greek mythology. Inspired by symbolic mythological figures and structured around four thematic cycles, the project integrates storytelling, digital tools, the Reggio Emilia approach, and STEAM-based learning. Children will engage with stories representing key natural concepts such as seasons, water, light, and transformation — through the symbolic myths of Demeter and Persephone, Poseidon and Athena, Dionysus and Hermes, Artemis and Apollo. These myths are not treated as religious or historical texts, but as creative entry points to explore nature and knowledge. The project promotes children as active protagonists in their learning process. Through hands-on activities with natural materials, collaborative digital creations, sound experiments, visual arts, and playful coding, students will co-create a “mythological symphony” — a collective expression of their relationship with nature, guided by the timeless voices of myth and the tools of modern education.
