Healthy Life, Wellbeing and Ƶing

The project "Healthy Life, Wellbeing and Ƶing" includes 6 schools from 6 European countries: SE-PL-TR--UK-ES-IT. We can see the effect of obesity on lack of interest and participation in sport activities, PE classes and real life social interaction. Along with this we have learned from studies being made in all partner countries that obesity is increasing among European people. Also among students high BMI is shown and students are staying indoors, being physically inactive, getting lost in the virtual environment and the gaming world instead of taking part in real life- and physical activities. We have seen an increase in stress, anxiety, alienation, stay at home persons, school failure and even suicide among the children who are more in front of the screens away from sports and social activities and interaction. As educators, we need to prepare our pupils to be socially interactive and have a healthy growth and development. We need to take WHO’s physical activity suggestions into consideration and prepare action plans including daily 60 minutes of exercise, 3 days a week muscle/bone developing activities, e.g. yoga, outdoor activities breaktime games, healthy food, cross curricular work including aesthetic learning processes (P.E. music, art etc) for school as well as both pre- and post school children. We should learn from each other, through shared activities, dissemination of shared outcomes and praxis locally, nationally and on an international scale.
