In a digitalized and fast-paced world, where young people’s attention is often captured by technology and social networks, reading risks being neglected. This project aims to restore the role of books as a means of intellectual and emotional development, offering students the opportunity to explore new light, different perspectives and cultivate critical thinking. Reading stimulates creativity, empathy and communication skills, being essential in the formation of young people’s character. Books transmit fundamental values such as empathy, friendship, justice and solidarity. The “Friends of Books” project promotes these values through literary activities that bring to the forefront essential themes for the moral formation of young people. Debates and discussions on the selected readings can stimulate reflection on current social and ethical issues, contributing to the creation of a more aware and responsible generation.
