Etwninners take up the role of ethnographers and reporters with the aid of their project mascots. The young explorers will discover more about their neighbourhood, learn about areas which were unknown to them and will gradually unravel more aspects of Europe – will explore their neighbourhood and the world! The project embraces the goals of the “Out of Eden” learn project which stems from Paul Salopek's unique endeavor to discover every detail in the route between South Africa and South America on foot by means of "slow journalism". The aim of the project is to get our pupils to discover their own area, their natural and cultural environment, share their knowledge and experience with peers from other schools in Europe and ultimately discover more about Europe. Each class will have a mascot which will serve as the talking person on behalf of the students and a common project mascot which will be the interface among all the mascots to promote interaction and cooperation.
