Democracy Detectives

Democracy Detectives is an international eTwinning project for students aged 10–16, designed to make learning about democracy interactive, creative, and collaborative. Through cross-country teamwork, students become “democracy detectives,” investigating how democratic systems work around the world, uncovering the importance of rights and responsibilities, and solving engaging missions. Activities include creating video “case files,” interviewing local officials, building a shared democracy timeline, and tackling fictional mysteries like missing rights or unfair laws. With creative challenges such as virtual town design, courtroom role-plays, and democracy-themed comics, participants develop critical thinking, communication, and global citizenship skills while building meaningful connections with peers from different countries.
