La UNESCO, en la convención de 1972 para la Protección del Patrimonio Mundial Cultural y Natural, estableció que ciertos lugares de la Tierra tenían un “valor universal excepcional”, formando parte del patrimonio común de la humanidad, igual que las lenguas defienden las identidades personales. En consecuencia, el proyecto Copa Lingua pretende fortalecer el sistema educativo de los alumnos colaboradores, creando un espacio europeo de educación donde las lenguas se conviertan en el hilo conductor, promoviendo su uso y comprensión. El estudio sobre sendos patrimonios ayudará a los estudiantes a consolidar una ciudadanía europea, mejorar su bienestar emocional y contribuir a la cohesión social, tal y como plantea el Consejo de Lenguas europeo. ------------------------------------------ The UNESCO’s convention of 1972 on prevention and protection of the World Heritage was relevant to establish that certain places on Earth, as well as their cultural heritage, had an ‘outstanding universal value’, thus, they had to be conserved and protected. In the same way, we think that languages strengthen personal identities. Consequently, the Copa Lingua project aims to improve the students’ communicative skills by offering international and collaborative European working teams in which different languages can be spoken and written, improving this way their use and comprehension. ������Ƶing about the World Heritage will help students to consolidate their feeling of European citizenship, strengthen their emotional well-being and contribute to a better social cohesion, as the European Language Council considers.
